Woman Convicted in Silver Spring Slaying

A Mississippi woman was convicted of shooting a man with whom she was romantically involved.

Katrina Ben, 37, of Silver Creek, MS, was recently convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Silver Spring man in his apartment.

Eric Somuah, 35, was found dead of a gunshot wound on June 6, 2012, according to CBS DC. Officers interviewed Ben, a neighbor at the time, who said she was romantically involved with Somuah, according to prosecutors. Ben denied killing the man.

Officers later found a gun Ben had bought in 2004 with characteristics from a spent shell casing found at Somuah’s apartment. She was arrested in 2013 and now faces a life in prison on Dec. 15.
