• Suitland elementary schoolers receive gifts during school's holiday extravaganza (dcnewsnow.com) — Families at Suitland Elementary just wrapped up a two-night holiday extravaganza where more than 100 students received toys, warm coats, and a hot meal. Community partners, including Omega Psi Phi and Councilman Calvin Hawkins, joined PGCPS leaders to support local families facing financial struggles and spread some much-needed cheer heading into the Christmas season. 
• Prince George's County man charged in DC shooting that left 1 hurt (dcnewsnow.com) — A 30-year-old Suitland man has been arrested in connection with a February shooting in Southeast D.C. that left one person injured. Police say Granderson McClenton Spruill III was taken into custody Dec. 16 and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and a firearm offense after investigators linked him to gunfire along Southern Avenue SE.
