Mail Slot Burglar Hits 5 Offices in 1 Night
The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.
Five businesses all located within one York Road office structure were burglarized last week by someone who broke into the offices by breaking the mail slots in their doors. Â
Each business was broken into by similar methods—either by destroying the mail slot or the door frame, according to spokeswoman detective Cathy Batton. It's believed that all five incidents are linked, according to reports filed at the

The following five entries stem from the reported incident. (Scroll down to see other entries from .)
York Road, 1600 block, between 5 p.m. on Dec. 16 and 1:35 p.m. on Dec. 17. A Gateway laptop computer was stolen from Granite Title and Associates. The burglar gained entry into the business by breaking the mail slot and prying open the front door.
York Road, 1600 block, between 5 p.m. on Dec. 16 and 1:35 p.m. on Dec. 17. Cash and a power drill were stolen from a remodeling company. The burglar destroyed the mail slot to get inside.
York Road, 1600 block, between 5 p.m. on Dec. 16 and 1:35 p.m. on Dec. 17. It is unclear if anything was stolen from Direct Media Inc., after a burglar "broke out" the mail slot and pried open the front door.
York Road, 1600 block, between 5 p.m. on Dec. 16 and 1:35 p.m. on Dec. 17. A burglar attempted to break into , by destroying the mail slot.
York Road, 1600 block, between 5 p.m. on Dec. 16 and 1:35 p.m. on Dec. 17. A Dell laptop, bottle of Crown Royal whiskey and cash were stolen from the Corridor Mortgage Group.

Pot Spring Road, 2500 block, between 5 p.m. Dec. 7 and 6:40 p.m. on Dec. 9. Various pieces of jewelry were stolen from the home of a 77-year-old woman. It is unknown how the burglar entered the woman's home.
Hartfell Road, 2400 block, between 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 15. A brown tool bag, bank checks, cash and black sunglasses were stolen out of an unlocked car.
Charles Street and Bellona Avenue, between 3 p.m. on Dec. 12 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 13. A burglar cut a hole in a metal storage trailer wall at the site of the Charles Street Bridge construction. Nothing was taken. No further information is known at this time.
