We've compiled a list of nearby attractions sure to quench your bloody thirst for shrieks and screams this Halloweekend.

Be sure to explore all of the haunted attractions' websites for more details about special events not mentioned in this post. Two things to keep in mind: It is recommended to buy tickets online in advance, and closing times are largely determined on when the last patrons complete all of the attractions.

Bennett’s Curse
Where/when:
8024 Max Blobs Park Road, Jessup MD, 20794. Oct. 27, from 7  to 10 p.m.; Oct. 28-Oct. 31, from 7 to 11 p.m.
Why go?:
Four attractions ranging from the House of Vampyres to the Zombie Kingdom 3D, Bennett’s Curse will surely deliver on its promises of screams. Bennett's is also the closest venue on our list to Baltimore County.

Field of Screams
Where/when:
191 College Avenue, Mountvile, PA 17554. Fridays and Saturdays, box office open from 6 to 10 p.m.; Sundays and Halloween night, box office open from 6 to 9 p.m. Attractions close when last person is through
Why go?
Sure it’s a bit of a drive up north, but how can you say no to three attractions including a haunted hay ride and the Frightmare Asylum, and an entertainment area with live music, magic shows and more.

Tickets range from $27 to $42 depending on the number of attractions and type of admission.

Markoff’s Haunted Forest
Where/when:
19120 Martinsburg Rd. Dickerson, MD 20842 (near Poolesville). Thursday, Oct. 27, from 7 to 9:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, from 7 to 10:30 p.m.; Sunday and Monday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. All cars must be in the parking lot by the above times.
Why go?
Markoff’s is perhaps the only haunted attraction that actually requires its patrons to sign a safety waiver. Sign your life away and enjoy getting chased through the haunted forest by the creepiest creeps that Markoff has to offer.

$20 Thursday, $25 Friday to Monday.

Jason’s Woods
Where/when:
99 Stehman Road, Lancaster, PA 17603. Fridays and Saturdays, 7 to 10 p.m.; Sundays from 7 to 9 p.m.
Why go?
Again, we know it’s far, but how can you say no to a whopping seven spooky attractions? Jason’s Woods is the place to go if you’re into iconic horror films. Dare to get lost in the woods and be greeted by Freddy, Jason and Michael.
Deals?
None.
Prices:
$20 to $60 depending on attraction combination.

Eastern State Penitentiary’s Terror Behind the Walls
Where/when:
 22nd Street and Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia, PA, see website for directions and parking. Oct. 27, 7 to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday, from 7 p.m. to midnight, and Sunday and Monday from 7 to 11 p.m.
Why go?
This may be the only “actually haunted” place on our list. A series of attractions take place in a real once-upon-a-time prison. Eastern State’s website boasts a series of ghost sighting testimonials as well as an interactive map detailing six attractions along the cellblocks.
