Pikesville Man, Daughter Claim They Were Shot at While Driving

Baltimore County police are investigating an alleged assault with a handgun  after a father and daughter from Pikesville claim they were involved in a “road rage” incident over the weekend. 

The man, 43, and his daughter, 14, told police they were stopped at the intersection of Wight Avenue and York Road on Saturday when they noticed the driver behind them had become agitated. The victims claim that the incident may have been sparked by preventing the other driver from entering the parking lot in Cockeysville, although no further details were given, according to police reports. 

The driver began “chasing” them, according to police spokeswoman Detective Cathy Batton. 

The two cars were driving southbound on York Road at 5:32 p.m. when the suspect allegedly pulled up along the left side of the father's car at the intersection of Gibbons Boulevard. 

The victims reported hearing a bang and seeing a flash, according to Batton, although neither victim saw a handgun. 

Police “checked the entire area for bullet holes, with negative results,” Batton said. 

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a late model gold Jeep, possibly a Cherokee, with tinted rear windows. The father and daughter identified the number “49” in the Maryland license plate. The suspect’s car was last seen heading southbound on York Road. 

The investigation is ongoing.
