Timonium ShopRite Collecting Healthy Holiday Recipes

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the concept of “healthy” dining isn’t always at the forefront of the holiday menu. I mean, how many calories does a sugarplum dancing through my belly really have?

But is trying to change that.

Between now and Dec. 9, the supermarket is collecting “healthy, delicious holiday recipes.” The end result will be a Timonium Community Healthy Holiday Cook Book, which will be distributed to customers in the coming weeks.

“The recipes should be health-conscious, and perfect for the holiday season,” according to a release. “Be sure to include the entire recipe (ingredients, measurements, instructions) and the reason why this dish is such a hit at your holiday get together each year.”

The top 20 reviewed recipes will be selected and included in the cookbook. Additionally, each dish will be showcased in the food bar of the ahead of the Christmas holiday.

“Interested participants must send their favorite holiday recipe to the registered dietitian Erin Peisach at erin.peisach@wakefern.com; mail it to the store (address below) or drop it off in person to the courtesy desk or to Erin's desk by Friday, Dec. 9,” the release continues.
