A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Two more candidates are set to run for the Democratic nomination for Attorney General.Del. C. William Frick (D-Montgomery County) and Del. Aisha Braveboy both intend to run to replace Attorney General Doug Gansler, who is running for governor, according to the <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/frick-braveboy-joining-competitive-field-for-attorney-general-in-maryland/2013/09/19/d26e4e56-213c-11e3-b73c-aab60bf735d0_story.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Washington Post</a>.Both <a href="http://www.brianfrosh.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">state Sen. Brian Frosh</a> (D-Montgomery County) and <a href="https://owingsmills.patch.com/groups/politics-and-elections/p/state-del-cardin-runs-for-maryland-attorney-general">Del. Jon Cardin</a> (D-Baltimore County) have said they will also seek the Democratic nomination in 2014.So far only Frick and Frosh have officially filed paperwork to run, and no Republican has entered the race, according to the <a href="http://www.elections.state.md.us/elections/2014/primary_candidates/gen_listings_2014_1_006-.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Maryland State Board of Elections.</a>Cardin announced his candidacy in July but has not officially filed paperwork to run in the primary.It appears that 2014 will have two competitive Democratic primaries.In addition to the Attorney General's race, the Democratic primary for governor already has three candidates in the field.
