ACTC Holding Second Annual 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk
The event, which raises funds to help the needy in the Baltimore metro area, also promotes hunger awareness.

Assistance Center of Towson Churches is hosting its second annual Call to ACTCion 5K Run/1.5 mile Walk to raise funds for the organization to carry out its mission to serve the needy in the Baltimore metro area.
"We would like to be able to top last year's number of 375 participants so ACTC will have the funds it needs to purchase food for the hungry to supplement what is donated by the churches and gathered by food drives," wrote volunteer Ruth Schaefer in an email.
The event kicks off at 8 a.m. June 1 on the Goucher College campus, according to the nonprofit's website. Interested participants can register online or at the center, located at 120 W. Pennsylvania Avenue. The fee is $25 for those more than 18 years or age and $20 for those 18 and under.
