A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Anneslie residents had extra reason to celebrate during their annual picnic on Sunday.  The community marked it 90th anniversary by creating a time capsule containing photos and letters about their favorite Anneslie memories and putting historic pictures and documents on display. "I love the fact that Anneslie has so much history," said Dana Dalton, a member of Anneslie's Board of Governors, in an email. "Beginning in the 1920s, and built around the historic Villa Anneslie estate, which continues to be a special part of our neighborhood, our thriving community now consists of approximately 500 homes." Dalton said the community, which was granted a historic designation and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in March 2012, is special because of the residents' committment to it. "Our neighborhood is filled with people who take pride in where they live," she wrote. "There is a general sense of neighbors helping neighbors; we care about each other, our children, our schools and the safety of our community."
