Baltimore County Libraries Stop In-Person Programs Amid COVID-19

Due to the coronavirus spread, in-person events will be canceled or switched to virtual events at Baltimore County Public Library branches.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Citing an increase in coronavirus cases across Maryland, the Baltimore County Public Library will suspend all in-person programs starting Monday.

"In light of the recent uptick of COVID-19 infections throughout Maryland, all in-person programs will be suspended or changed to virtual beginning Monday, December 27, until further notice," according to a statement from Baltimore County Public Library.

Officials issued the statement Thursday, Dec. 23, after the Maryland Department of Health reported the state's largest increase in new cases of COVID-19 in a single day:

Upon making the announcement Thursday, Baltimore County Public Library officials noted the online calendar did not yet reflect that in-person events would be suspended or switched to virtual formats.
