Barricade Situation on Gypsy Lane Ends, Man in Custody

Baltimore County police say a barricade situation on Gypsy Lane has been resolved without injury.

At 9:47 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a home in the 1100 block of Gypsy Lane for a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that a family member was destroying items and threatening her. The woman also reported hearing a gunshot. 

The suspect fired several shots from inside the home to the back of the house but the caller and another adult in the home were able to leave safely, police said.

Police negotiators worked throughout the afternoon, with the aid of Harford and Anne Arundel County officers.

The suspect, a 35-year-old man, was taken into custody and will be evaluated at a hospital, police said. Charges were expected to be filed.

Hampton Lane was closed between Providence Road and Windy Gate Road because of the barricade situation.
