BCPS Makes Weather Decision For Friday, Oct. 29
Officials from Baltimore County Public Schools made a change in plans Friday due to the potential for severe weather.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Baltimore County are closed Friday, Oct. 29. Citing severe weather conditions, Baltimore County Public Schools made the decision Friday morning.
Classes are canceled; the virtual learning program is closed; and day care programs are canceled in school buildings, school officials said.
Administrative offices are open, and staff have the option of working remotely or taking unscheduled leave.

"Significant amounts of rainfall with the potential for dangerous flash flooding are expected throughout the day," the statement from Baltimore County Public Schools said.
A coastal flood warning, wind advisory and flood watch have been issued for Baltimore County.

Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., the National Weather Service anticipates 1 to 2 inches of rain, with up to 4 inches possible in some areas.
Winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts around 50 to 55 mph are possible from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. as well.
