BGE Claims Progress, Many in Towson Still Without Power
We spotted crews working on the site of a fallen tree that has closed part of Bellona Avenue since Saturday. But another storm may throw a wrench into the works.
Baltimore Gas and Electric officials say 80 percent of the outages caused by last weekend's storm have been restored.
But of the 134,288 outages that remained as of 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, many of them appeared to be in the Towson area, according to a map on the utility's website.
In Baltimore County, 48,688 BGE customers remain without power.

According to County Councilman David Marks, several Towson neighborhoods saw their power come back on today, including Idlewylde and parts of Rodgers Forge.

Work crews are still out by the hundreds. On Bellona Avenue—where that was supposed to be headed to a vacation in North Carolina before tree branches outside their home pulled down power lines—linemen spent Tuesday trimming back a fallen tree and replacing a broken power pole.
BGE has 3,800 workers on restoration efforts in the region, including 1,300 from out of state, some from as far away as Louisiana and Quebec.
BGE officials are also monitoring storms for tonight and tomorrow.
“We are closely monitoring and planning for the potential of thunderstorms in the coming days,” said BGE COO Stephen J. Woerner in a press release. “All of our customers should be aware that more severe weather could cause additional outages and affect our restoration efforts. Our crews will continue to work as safely and quickly as possible.”
