Allegheny Avenue restaurant, a student favorite, is a gourmet alternative
Juicy burgers. A cup overflowing with fries. Fanta birch beer. For fast food fans, it doesn't get a lot better than The Allegheny Avenue burger joint serves no sibling rivalry (though the Murphy brothers are really brothers)—just hand-formed patties, wings, subs and other fast-food fare. Though it would be lying to say it's much healthier than, say, Five Guys, the stylish interior, gourmet ingredients (even the buns are fresh baked) and eclectic menu set it apart.
A burger, fries and a soda might run you $10 per person, but like Five Guys, the fries are more than enough to share. If you have a student ID, Burger Bros. offers half-price burgers on Sundays.
Burger Bros is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 8 p.m.
