A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Pardon the brief diversion from the usual politics while I take a second to note that today is truly a day to celebrate the purple and black and orange. Today, by tradition, is <a href="https://towson.patch.com/search?_utf8=%E2%98%83&amp;keywords=Purple+Friday" rel="nofollow">Purple Friday</a>—a day for Baltimore football fans to get behind <a href="https://towson.patch.com/search?_utf8=%E2%98%83&amp;keywords=Baltimore+Ravens" rel="nofollow">the Ravens</a>. This weekend is a bigger game than usual in the NFL if only because it's a chance to avenge last year's playoff loss to Tom Brady and the <a href="https://towson.patch.com/search?_utf8=%E2%98%83&amp;keywords=New+England+patriots" rel="nofollow">New England Patriots</a>. But this year, something magic happened. <a href="https://towson.patch.com/search?_utf8=%E2%98%83&amp;keywords=Baltimore+Orioles" rel="nofollow">The Orioles</a> for the first time in 14 years—longer than my son has been alive—not only have a winning season but a real chance to make the playoffs and, dare I say it, win the American League East. The O's face Boston this weekend—who would love to spoil our fall run much as we did to them last year. (Maybe we could convince them that their hatred of the Yankees trumps their desire for revenge?) So today, because I was born and raised here and love my teams, Insider Politics joins in the marriage of purple and orange and black. Why not? It's a issue that most area Democrats and Republicans can get behind. Unless they're 'Skins/Nats fans. Then I've got nothin' for ya.
