A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. A promised meeting between Joe A. Hairston and state lawmakers from Baltimore County has not yet been scheduled. You may remember that Hairston April 8 with Sen. Kathy Klausmeier and Del. John A. Olszewski Jr. in Annapolis. During that meeting, the three talked about concerns legislators had regarding the hiring of a , the and rules regarding the . Hairston was given a list of questions. Klausmeier and Olszewski said the superintendent promised to return and provide answers at a meeting of all 29 legislators who represent the county. That meeting, which would be open to the public, was supposed to take place "within the next month." Charles Herndon, a schools system spokesman, said he was not aware of any such meeting being scheduled. Klausmeier and Olszewski did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
