A Baltimore County Board of Education member has a prestigious new title.
Parkville resident Rodger C. Janssen, who represents the sixth councilmanic district, was elected president of the Maryland Association of Boards of Education, according to a school system news release. He has been a member of the association for eight years, include two as an officer.
The organization services 24 boards of education around the state.

During his time with the association, Janssen has served and headed several committees, and worked as a trustee of the group's Worker's Compensation Fund, the release rease.
He joined the county board in 2004.
