A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. We now have a date. County legislators and Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent Joe A. Hairston have agreed to meet later this month, according to an email from Del. John A. Olszewski Jr., chairman of the county's House delegation. Hairston and legislators will meet for an hour beginning at 4 p.m. on May 31 in conference room A of the main building at Greenwood — the schools system headquarters in Towson. Reporters have been invited. It is not clear if the meeting is open to the general public. Legislators hope to get answers to a list of questions given to Hairston during an April 8 breakfast meeting in Annapolis. During that meeting, Hairston, Olszewski and Sen. Kathy Klausmeier talked about concerns legislators had regarding the hiring of a , the and rules regarding the .
