Homan 'Chomping at the Bit,' Text Messaging

The administrative officer is said to be recovering at home.

County Administrative Officer Fred Homan continues to improve and is now recovering at his Timonium home, according to a county spokesman.

Details of Homan's injuries and recovery have been sparse since a sent the 33-year veteran of county government and to Shock Trauma.

Don Mohler, a county spokesman, said Homan "continues to improve."

"I know he's chomping at the bit when I get text messages from him saying he's frustrated and wants to get to work," Mohler said.

Homan was said to have been transferred to Kernan Hospital, a rehabilitation center specializing in head and spinal injuries, just days after being admitted to the trauma center. County officials would not confirm the transfer, though a county employee said it was announced during a county pension board meeting. Homan is a member of the pension board.

Mohler said Wednesday that Homan is now convalescing at his Timonium home. Keith Dorsey, the county's budget and finance director, continues to serve as acting county administrative officer.
