A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Homan is scheduled to speak around 1 p.m., about an hour before the council's regularly scheduled work session. The exact pension-related topic is not known. Members of the council are sure to have plenty of questions based on previous public discussions on the issue. Homan could speak about additional needed pension reforms, the or perhaps even the pending $25 million loan the system will make to the county to build a at the <a href="https://towson.patch.com/search?_utf8=%E2%98%83&amp;keywords=Texas+Landfill" rel="nofollow">Texas landfill</a> in <a href="https://huntvalley.patch.com" rel="nofollow">Cockeysville</a>. Sources tell Patch the discussion will include "very specific recommendations." Earlier this year, Homan warned the council that additional changes to the pension system would be needed.
