Jennings Calls On Kelley for Apology
Westside Democrat said task force vote shouldn't be delayed for eastside Republican because he doesn't live in Baltimore County.

Republican Sen. J.B. Jennings is demanding an apology from a Democratic colleague after comments she made about where he lives.
Sen. Delores Kelley, during a meeting of a task force examining how Baltimore County school board members are selected, argued against delaying a vote so that Jennings could be present to vote.
Richard Reinhardt, an aide to Jennings, attended the meeting because Jennings was attending a site visit to the University of Maryland, College Park made by a General Assembly subcommittee the senator serves on.

"I think we’ve been more than generous," Kelley said in response to Reinhardt's request. "[Jennings] is a resident of Harford County. He’s on the task force but he’s not here."
Jennings, a farmer, grew up in Baltimore County but now lives on his farm just inside Harford County.

"It's extremely disrespectful," Jennings said of Kelley's comments. "It was an extremely ignorant thing to say.
"I represent both Harford and Baltimore Counties and my votes represent that fact," Jennings said.
About 60 percent of the district he represents is made up of areas in Baltimore County including Cockeysville, Kingsville, part of Perry Hall, and Middle River.
"I don't care if it's 1 percent," Jennings said. "My vote is equal to hers."
