A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Peter O'Malley, a former chief of staff to County Executive Jim Smith, will return to Baltimore City government as chief of staff for Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. O'Malley will start his new position on Friday. He steps down immediately from his position as chairman of the Maryland Democratic Party. O'Malley, 40, is an attorney and the brother of Gov. Martin O'Malley. He served three years as Smith's chief of staff before stepping down last April to work on his brother's re-election campaign. Prior to that, O'Malley helped develop the CitiStat program during his brother's tenure as mayor of Baltimore. He earned his law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law and his bachelor's degree in political science from the Catholic University of America. O'Malley lives in Mount Washington with his wife and three children.
