We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. A bill that would change how members of the Baltimore County Board of Education are selected received preliminary approval Wednesday in the state Senate. The Senate voted to amend the House version of the bill, which called for a fully elected school board, to conform to the . The Senate bill would create a board with six elected and five appointed members. A preliminary vote on the Senate bill was delayed by Sen. <a href="https://catonsville.patch.com/search?keywords=Delores+Kelley" rel="nofollow">Delores Kelley</a>, who asked for more time in order to prepare amendments. The Senate version of the bill and a final vote on the House version of the bill could come up for a preliminary vote later today. Sen. <a href="https://owingsmills.patch.com/search?keywords=Bobby+Zirkin" rel="nofollow">Bobby Zirkin</a>, of the sponsors of the Senate version, said the House bill now represents the best chance to change the school board this year. The House would still need to approve the changes to its bill but Zirkin said that's might be easier to do in the last four days of the session than to push his version through the House. The session is scheduled to end at midnight on April 9.
