Calvert Hall Appoints New Principal

Principal Louis Heidrick will be retiring following the conclusion of the 2012-2013 school year.

Calvert Hall College High School announced Friday that Charles Stembler, the school's current assistant principal for student affairs, will take on the top job effective July 1.

Stembler, a Phoenix resident, will replace Louis Heidrick, who is retiring after 12 years as principal of Calvert Hall, according to a news release. Heidrick has worked at the school for 48 years total.

Stembler, a 1983 graduate of the Towson boys' preparatory school who has served in his current role since 1990, has also taught advanced placement American/comparative government, leadership, English and social studies at the school, the release states.

"I am excited, honored and humbled at this opportunity," Stembler said in the release. "Calvert Hall is blessed to have incredibly supportive alumni, a wonderful faculty and staff, and the greatest students. The leadership and mission of the Christian Brothers and the charism of St. John Baptist de La Salle has never been more relevant and I look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence."
