A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. County residents and businesses can now get important information through the county's newly enhanced emergency notification system. The system is designed to allow residents to receive emails and recorded messages to their home or cellular phones. "During dangerous weather situations and other emergencies, information is power. These area-specific emergency updates can help you keep your family safe," County Executive <a href="https://towson.patch.com/search?keywords=Kevin+Kamenetz" rel="nofollow">Kevin Kamenetz</a> said in a statement released Monday. "With our increasingly mobile society, I encourage all county residents to consider registering their cell phones with us so they can get emergency alerts whether they are at home or not." Residents can sign up for the notifications on the county's <a href="http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/Agencies/emergency_prep/index.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">emergency preparedness website</a>.
