A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. An Essex man is behind bars after allegedly stealing a sock full of change, police said. Around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, police say, a man used a ladder to climb into a home in the 7500 block of Hillsway Avenue through a side window. The resident, an acquaintance of the suspect, saw him as he allegedly emerged from the basement holding the sock, which contained $166.90 in change, according to a police incident summary. The alleged burglar was arrested at the scene. Brandon Lee Keller, 26, of the 1600 block of Howard Ave., is charged with first-degree burglary, theft, destruction of property and making a false statement to an officer. He is currently being held in the on $20,000 bond, according to online court records.
