Fire Breaks Out Near Cockeysville Recycling Center

A trailer went up in flames in a part of Baltimore County without hydrants Friday morning, officials said.

COCKEYSVILLE, MD — A 53-foot-trailer was ablaze in Cockeysville near one of the Baltimore County refuse and recycling facilities Friday morning, officials said.

Crews said they were called to the 10200 block of Beaver Dam Road.

No fire hydrants were available in the area, according to the Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighters Association, which reported the blaze was located at the county's recycling center.

As a result, extra engines and water tankers were dispatched, the association reported before 10 a.m.

The Baltimore County Central Acceptance Facility is off Warren Road nearby.

This was the second fire in Baltimore County to break out at a recycling facility Friday, according to fire officials.

Odor remained in the air as far as Rosedale after 8 a.m. following a fire at a recycling plant in the Halethorpe area that broke out around 2:30 a.m., the Baltimore County Fire Department reported.
