A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Baltimore County Police have selected five new school zone sites for speed cameras. The new cameras will be located at the following schools: <ul> <li>Southwest Academy – Johnnycake Road</li> <li>Loch Raven High – Cromwell Bridge Road</li> <li>Stoneleigh Elementary -– Regester Avenue</li> <li>Patapsco High – Wise Avenue</li> <li>Owings Mills Elementary – Reisterstown Road</li> </ul> When the new cameras are installed, there will be 27 operational in the county. The department also announced Wednesday that four other sites will become operational on July 12. <ul> <li>Winands Elementary - Scotts Level Road between Winands Road and Autrim Lane</li> <li>Loch Raven Academy - Goucher Boulevard between Putty Hill Avenue and LaSalle Road</li> <li>Seven Oaks Elementary - Seven Courts Drive between Joppa Road and Proctor Lane</li> <li>Bais Yaakov - Smith Avenue</li> </ul> A fifth camera slated for Harford Road near St. Ursula's School will become operational after receiving State Highway Administration approval, according to a department news release.
