A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. A Virginia woman was sentenced to two years probation and $826 in restitution for one count of felony theft on Monday in Baltimore County Circuit Court, after she was convicted of stealing premiums from a client while working in a Towson insurance agency.Danette M. Carter, 43, of Weems, VA, stole the premiums paid to her by a client between August 2003 and September 2004 when she worked for HBW Insurance Agency, according to a news release from the Attorney General's office.When the client discovered he was uninsured he contacted the agency's owner. When Howard Weisberg, the owner, contacted Carter about the allegations she admitted in a letter to stealing the clients money. Weisberg then investigated Carter's accounts and reported her to the Baltimore County Police Department, according to the news release.   The restitution is the amount Carter stole from the client.
