Iggies Not Coming to Towson

The popular Baltimore pizzeria will remain in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood.

Plans to move a popular Baltimore pizzeria to Towson have been sliced.

As first reported by The Baltimore Sun, the long-time staple of the Mt. Vernon neighborhood in the city—which is known for its thin crusts, high quality ingredients and dog friendly service—is staying put.

An employee at Iggies, who declined to give his name, told Patch that the decision to not move to Riderwood Station had to do with zoning issues that could not be resolved.

When the move was first announced in June, co-owner Peter Wood told The Sun that it was "95 percent" certain. Wood told the newspaper that the pace at the Mt. Vernon location was difficult to handle.

Patch emailed Iggies management for comment on Thursday afternoon but has yet to hear back.
