3 Fires Near Loch Raven Reservoir Prompt Investigation

After firefighters were called to several blazes around Loch Raven, the Baltimore County Police Department's arson team is investigating.

TOWSON, MD — A fire in the Loch Raven watershed prompted a full-station callout Wednesday afternoon, officials said. It is the third call firefighters have handled in two weeks in the area.

"While it is too early to definitively say these fires were intentionally set, we ask that our neighbors and visitors who frequent the area remain vigilant," the Providence Volunteer Fire Company said in a statement. "If you see something, say something. Woods fires have the potential to spread to neighboring structures and rapidly grow in intensity, threatening lives and the environment."

An ATV and four-wheel drive trucks were required to get firefighters into the woods to put out the blaze Wednesday afternoon, the Providence Volunteer Fire Company reported before 3 p.m.
