A homeless man accused of driving his dead mother to PA has now been charged with two counts of murder in Baltimore County.

TOWSON, MD — Nearly four months after authorities arrested a homeless man for driving his dead mother's body to Pennsylvania, the suspect has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in Baltimore County, authorities said.

On Friday, Baltimore County homicide detectives charged Kevin Ahn, 31, with first-degree murder and first-degree assault in the deaths of Sun Lim, 83, and Im Kim, 69. The victims were found dead on March 24 in the 100 block of Oliver Heights Road.

Ahn remains held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on no bond.

He was ordered to undergo a competency evaluation after a court appearance on Monday, WBAL reported. While Ahn nodded when asked his name, he then refused to take part in the rest of the hearing. Ahn has refused to give a DNA sample despite a search warrant, the prosecutor said.

In April, Ahn was arrested in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, after police said he drove his dead mother's body to his estranged sister's house.

Authorities in Pennsylvania took Ahn into custody and charged him with abuse of a corpse in connection with his mother's body.

Northern Lancaster County Regional Police officers said they found Ahn's mother, Hyun Ahn, dead in the back of her own vehicle. WBAL reported the woman's decomposed body is believed to have been inside the SUV for more than 30 hours and was found on the floor in the back of the vehicle covered in trash, including McDonald's wrappers.

On July 10, WBAL reported that Ahn's sister asked police to check on their late mother's roommate and her ex-husband at their home in Owings Mills. Lim and Kim were found dead with belts around their necks on the kitchen floor in what investigators said had been staged to look like a suicide. The medical examiner said Both victims were strangled, the medical examiner said.

Police in Pennsylvania said a note reportedly written by Ahn was found in the mother's SUV that read, in part, "Mom is in car. I'm sorry. Please give her a funeral. My brain is fried. My mom lied, she gave me fake money from the N.A. so did my employees. I lost my mind. Forgive me. Please call my sister."

Pennsylvania authorities dropped the abuse of a corpse charge so Ahn can be tried for murder in Maryland.

He has not been charged in his mother's death.
