A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. After receiving and planning for 18 months, is unveiling a field named after slain alumna Yeardley Love. The turf field will be dedicated on Sept. 9 at 5 p.m., according to a news release from the private Catholic school for girls. The ceremony will include a blessing, readings, music and addresses from school representatives. "Yeardley was both a stand-out lacrosse player and a stand-out person," said  Patricia McCarron, the school's headmistress, in the release. "This field is a beautiful reminder of her dedication as a player, student and member of the NDP community." The Yeardley Love Field features light and bright blue accents, which were Love's class colors, the release reads.
