Oyster Bay Grille to Open Later This Year

Two brothers with Baltimore restaurant experience will open a new steak and seafood restaurant in the next several months at Towson Circle.

In a Monday hearing, the Baltimore County Liquor Board approved a for Oyster Bay Grille.

The new restaurant is owned by brothers Nick and John Daskalakis, who worked together at The Bee Hive on Lexington Street in downtown Baltimore in the 1970s and 1980s.

"All the politicians ate there, breakfast and lunch," said Nick Daskalakis, a Towson resident. His brother John lives in Boca Raton, FL.

Nick Daskalakis said Oyster Bay will be ready in "at least three months" after $600,000 in renovations to the site of the former Vin, which closed several years ago. The new restaurant will employ 25 to 30 people and come with dining room seating for 132 and bar seating for 25, plus drink rails.

"This looked like a very good opportunity for us," John Daskalakis said at the hearing. "It's a real good area and I think we're going to do a great job."

Nick Daskalakis said after the hearing that the Oyster Bay menu will incude a selection of upscale seafood and steak dishes.

Nancy Hafford, executive director of the , said the success of Towson Tavern and the arrival of Towson Square in the next several years will help it find the success that eluded Vin.

"The east side of York Road can be a very side of York Road if you get the right type of business in there and I think they're going to do extremely well," she said.
