Police Seek Driver Who Fled Fatal Hit-And-Run In Baltimore County

Maryland State Police are looking for a driver and vehicle who fled a fatal pedestrian crash in Baltimore County early Sunday.

TOWSON, MD — Maryland State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle and driver involved in a pedestrian hit-and-run that killed a Virginia man early Sunday morning in Baltimore County.

The male pedestrian, identified as Ahmed Waqus Qayun Kahn, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Maryland State Police. He was the passenger of a 2014 Toyota Camry. No other injuries were reported.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m., troopers responded to the area of outer loop I-695 between Providence Road and Delaney Valley Road for a crash involving a pedestrian. According to a police news release, a Mitsubishi Outlander was disabled in the left lane with its hazard lights on after it struck a concrete barrier, and a Toyota Camry then collided with the rear of the Mitsubishi.

The occupants of both the Mitsubishi and Toyota got out of their vehicles and were on the left shoulder of the road.

A short time later, a Chevy Equinox swerved onto the left shoulder to avoid crashing into the Toyota Camry, and struck Kahn. The driver of the Chevy Eqinox fled the scene, state police said.

Investigators believe the vehicle is a 2025 red Chevy Equinox with damage to the front and passenger side.
