
The Baltimore County Employees Federal Credit Union is hosting a Shred-A-Thon to help locals get rid of confidential information safely.
On Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to noon, the bank invites residents dispose of the information using a mobile shredding vehicle at the Bykota Senior Center parking lot, located at 611 Central Avenue.
According to the bank's website, up to five boxes—approximately 10 inches high, 12 inches wide and 15 inches deep—of paper material can be shredded. Paper clips, staples, folders credit cards and CDs are also accepted but not binder clasps, plastics, clothing, refuse and metals.

For those who can't make the Oct. 6 Towson event, there is also a Shred-A-Thon scheduled for the Perry Hall Credit Union parking lot at 8640 Ridgely's Coice Drive on Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon.
