A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. The Baltimore County Employees Federal Credit Union is hosting a Shred-A-Thon to help locals get rid of confidential information safely. On Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to noon, the bank invites residents dispose of the information using a mobile shredding vehicle at the Bykota Senior Center parking lot, located at 611 Central Avenue.  <a href="http://www.bcefcu.com/2012/09/shred-a-thons/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">According to the bank's website</a>, up to five boxes—approximately 10 inches high, 12 inches wide and 15 inches deep—of paper material can be shredded. Paper clips, staples, folders credit cards and CDs are also accepted but not binder clasps, plastics, clothing, refuse and metals. For those who can't make the Oct. 6 Towson event, there is also a Shred-A-Thon scheduled for the Perry Hall Credit Union parking lot at 8640 Ridgely's Coice Drive on Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon.
