State Board Approves Greene Turtle Loan

The state Board of Public works approved a $240,000 loan to the Towson Greene Turtle owners through the Neighborhood Business Works Program, according to The Baltimore Sun.
The newspaper reports that Comptroller Peter Franchot voted against the loan because Towson is not a blighted community, and that the loan is for a "sports bar in a college town."
In June, Patch reported the proposed renovations on the York Road property included adding a roof top deck, and are expected to cost $893,000.
