Summer Repairs to Partially Close Washington Ave.

Crews will be out on the streetscape from mid-July through the end of August, a spokesman said.

Drivers can expect detours in downtown Towson starting next month, as crews replace some brickwork on the streetscape in the 400 block of Washington Avenue.

David Fidler, a spokesman for the Baltimore County Department of Public Works, said the road will be closed in a manner similar to the , where one end of the road between Chesapeake and Pennsylvania avenues will be closed and drivers will be directed down Bankers Way.

"Apparently the firing of the bricks was substandard or was a problem," Fidler said. "This is entirely covered by warranty, so the county's not out anything."
