A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. The magazine <a href="http://money.cnn.com/gallery/real_estate/2012/08/20/best-places-rich-single.moneymag/8.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">recently named</a> the town the eighth best in the country for the rich and single, and cited outdoor community events such as Winterfest and Towsontown Spring Festival as the spots to meet these people. "We really love to bring people out into the community," said Nancy Hafford, executive director of the Hafford said the chamber's largely volunteer operation puts on about 60 outdoor events in the community a year. According to Money, Towson has a median family income of $111,739, and 35.8 percent of its 56,362 population is single. Towson was among 25 towns ranked in the magazine's list. It fell between Sandy Springs, GA in seventh place and Oak Park, IL in ninth.
