Breaking: A school is closing early Friday because of a power outage, according to Baltimore County Public Schools.

TOWSON, MD — An elementary school near Towson is closing early Friday due to a power outage.

Hampton Elementary School will close at 11:15 a.m., Baltimore County Public Schools reported Friday, Nov. 12.

All after-school and evening activities at Hampton Elementary School have been canceled, officials said.

About 11 customers in the area of Charmuth Road are impacted by the outage, according to BGE, which reports a repair crew is on site.

Power restoration is estimated at 1:30 p.m., after the utility company was notified of the outage before 6:45 a.m.

As of 11:15 a.m. Friday, about 68 BGE customers in Baltimore County were experiencing power outages.
