Towson Store Sells $100,000 Scratch-Off Ticket: MD Lottery
A painter who purchased lottery tickets in Towson said he put his financial worries to rest.

TOWSON, MD — A Baltimore painter won $100,000 playing a scratch-off game recently at a Towson retailer.
"I’ve had a few potential projects not pan out recently, so paying the bills has been a concern," said the man. "No longer."
During his recent visit to E-Z Convenience at 8104 Loch Raven Boulevard in Towson, the 61-year-old said he bought a few lottery tickets.

“I picked out several different tickets, mostly ones I’d had luck with in the past and then a few for their big top prizes,” he told Maryland Lottery officials. The $10 Big Cash Riches instant ticket was among those with a larger prize. It debuted in December and has eight tickets worth $100,000. The painter was the fifth to claim the top prize, meaning three remain.
His other lottery tickets also earned the man some cash.

“I scratched them over the next couple of days, had about $300 in winnings and took them in to get the cash,” the painter told lottery officials. "When I handed the guy this one, he looked at it and told me that he couldn’t cash the ticket. When I figured out why, I was shocked.”
For selling a top-tier winner, E-Z Convenience will get a $1,000 bonus.
In recent years, the convenience store in the Ravenwood shopping center has sold multiple five-figure winning tickets— in November 2019 and October 2020, lottery players won $12,327 and $50,000, respectively.
