Over the three days, 3,550 undergraduate students and 487 graduate students will cross

The first ceremony took place on Wednesday, May 25 honoring the students of the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics’ 685 students, as well as the College of Fine Arts and Communications’ 552 students.

This ceremony also featured this year’s commencement speaker, Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, M.D., a physician and public health activist who persisted
through scrutiny and character attacks to report the Flint, Michigan drinking water
crisis.

On Thursday, May 26, TU will celebrate 799 graduates of the College of Health Professions, as well as 514 students of the College Business and Economics.

Commencement will end on Friday, May 27, as 935 graduates of the College of Liberal Arts, and 517 graduates of the College of Education cross the stage.

All three commencement ceremonies can be live streamed through the Towson University
website. Highlights of all three ceremonies will also be featured on Towson University’s
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok pages.

This year’s spring commencement ceremony continues Towson University’s tradition of
sending prepared students out into the work force. Graduates from TU leave with the
vision, creativity and adaptability to craft solutions that enrich culture, society,
economy and environment of Maryland, the region and beyond.

According to a first destination outcome survey administered to the Towson University undergraduate class of 2021, 87% of working
graduates are employed in Maryland. Along with that, 89% of graduates had either found
a job or were continuing their education.

“Commencement is my very favorite time of the year. For our students, it is a time
of looking back at where they have come and looking ahead to where they are going,”
says Towson University President Kim Schatzel. “The season of Commencement brings
us all together to celebrate our university and its traditions. As the bells of Stephens
Hall ring to start the commencement ceremonies, we are reminded that we are all Towson
University Tigers and are assembled to witness the fulfillment of the dreams of our
graduates and their loved ones. It is truly an emotional day and one filled with great
joy.”
