Towsontown Spring Festival Celebrates 55 Years In May

TOWSON, MD — The 55th annual Towsontown Festival is about to open in downtown Towson from York Road to Bosley Avenue and from Susquehanna Avenue to Allegheny Avenue.

The event runs Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 5, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

With the help of over 100 volunteers, sponsors and Baltimore County agencies, the Towsontown Spring Festival has turned into one of Towson’s favorite traditions with 100,000 visitors expected to attend the two-day event with more than 200 vendors, according to the Towson Chamber of Commerce, Inc.

The festival will feature local gourmet food trucks as well as Mediterranean, Latin, Asian and American cuisine. The food selection ranges from classic carnival foods to ethnic, gourmet dishes, along with sweets and everything in between.

Vendors will showcase and sell art, jewelry, and handmade products.

The Towsontown Spring Festival is family-friendly and includes entertainment from live music to dance performances, rides and games, and beer gardens. Find the full entertainment lineup online at www.towsontownfestival.com.

Information Stage: The fun will kick off at the corner of Pennsylvania and Washington Avenue. Opening ceremonies are set for noon on Saturday, May 4. Local organizations will be
performing at the Information Stage throughout the weekend.

Plaza Family Fun Area: Find carnival rides and games for all ages in the Family Fun Area behind PNC & M&T Bank on Pennsylvania Avenue. Entry to the Family Fun Areas is free; however ride tickets must be purchased at the festival. A free farm animal education area when children can get
up close with animals will be open. Schedule for the farmyard talk can be found on the festival

Patriot Plaza Stage: The beer garden will be located at the newly renovated Patriot Plaza, located between the Towson Circuit Court building and the Historic Old Courthouse. Live music includes performances by That’s What She Said, Vertigo Red and Crushing Day on Saturday; Doc Marten & the Flannels and Kelly Bell Band on Sunday.

Parking rates will be adjusted by the county, and all county lots surrounding the festival will charge $5 per day.
