BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A trucker was accused of shooting at another driver recently on a Baltimore County highway.

Police think the suspect may also be linked to three shootings that same night on the Pennsylvania portion of the interstate.

Authorities said they arrested Christian Ramos, 28, of Illinois the next day in Cecil County. A press release said Ramos is from Aurora, Illinois, but court records list his address in Melrose Park, Illinois.

Authorities said they processed the victim's vehicle and found a bullet hole in the passenger-side window and a projectile lodged in the front seat.

Investigators said they identified Ramos as a suspect after reviewing dashcam footage and conducting interviews.

Troopers think Ramos was driving a Tag Trans Inc. tractor-trailer at the time of the shooting. Tag Trans is a trucking company headquartered in Burr Ridge, Illinois.

Police said they found the truck Thursday at the TA Travel Center in Elkton, where they detained Ramos without incident.

Authorities said they served a search and seizure warrant on the tractor-trailer and found a loaded .45-caliber handgun, several hundred rounds of ammunition and multiple spent shell casings.

Court records show that Ramos was charged with three counts each of:

  • Attempted first-degree murder
  • Attempted second-degree murder
  • First-degree assault
  • Second-degree assault
  • Reckless endangerment from car

A judge on Friday ordered Ramos to be held without bond until his trial, the case file says.

Troopers said they later learned that Pennsylvania State Police are also investigating three shootings that occurred Wednesday night along I-83 in Pennsylvania between 10 p.m. and midnight.

Authorities are seeking additional victims.

Police asked anybody who was traveling on I-83 through Maryland or Pennsylvania on Wednesday night and has dashcam footage or information related to the shootings to call the Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative at 410-538-1887.
