A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. A city-owned staging area for a water contractor on East Burke Avenue is set to become vacant. <a href="http://www.wachsws.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Wachs Water Services</a> will leave the one-acre property at 219 East Burke Ave. by the end of July, according to County Councilman . Kurt Kocher, a spokesman for the Baltimore City Department of Public Works, said Wachs found a better location to house their trucks in Golden Ring. "That's one of the things they've been looking for, so that's where they're going," Kocher said. Kocher said there was no word yet on what the city's plans are for the property, which Marks recently  from 16 residential units per acre to one, to match nearby homes. "The rezoning of this property is timely, as Baltimore City might now try to sell the land for development," Marks said in an email. In the email, Marks did thank Wachs for working with neighbors to plant trees along its property line and noted plans to convert the stone parking area facing Burke Avenue to grass.
