You Tell Us: How Will Michael Phelps Perform in the Olympics?

The Rodgers Forge Olympian begins his final Olympic slate on Saturday.

In mere hours, Towson's own Michael Phelps is set to make a big splash in his fourth and final Olympics.

The Rodgers Forge native will be among the first in the water in the qualification round of the 400-meter individualized medley on Saturday at 5 a.m. eastern time. Check out NBC's site for the full schedule and live streaming.

But is he ready? Among his detractors is teammate Tyler Clary, who earlier this month apologized after questioning Phelps' work ethic headed into the 2012 games.

Phelps is set for seven events in his final games, eliminating a possible repeat of his record eight gold medal performance in Beijing.

Phelps acknowledged he won't come close to that performance in an interview earlier this month with The Baltimore Sun.

USA Today reports Phelps is a betting favorite to win five of his events. Besides the 400 IM, Phelps is also slated for the 200 IM, 100-meter butterfly, 200-meter butterfly and three relays.

There are few records left for Phelps to break. Among them: Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina's record of 18 Olympic medals (Phelps has 16). The Moscow Times reports Latynina is rooting for him.

So you tell us. How do you think Michael Phelps will perform in the London Olympics? How will you be taking in his early morning (our time) matches?
