Once emergency responders arrived, the individual was apprehended and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team determined no explosive device was on-scene. Although the situation has been diffused, emergency personnel continue to secure the area and all base residents/personnel should avoid the area," according to a statement on Facebook.
For nearly an hour, all personnel and residents were told to avoid the area until further notice.

“Our people are our most valuable resource and we take every threat seriously,” said Col. Brad Hoagland, 11th Wing and JBA commander, via the base's Twitter feed. "Our first responders train for these types of scenarios on a regular basis. Fortunately, this incident was diffused quickly and was determined to be a false alarm."

The base is most famous as the home of Air Force One, the plane that presidents travel in, but other operations are housed at the base.
Missions at the base have not been affected by the threat, officials said, and no flights have been redirected. There is no impact to traffic on Allentown Road, civilian property or businesses around the area.
