Police Will Canvass College Park After Fatal New Years Day Shooting
A reward is in place and the homicide unit will solicit the area on the night of Jan. 5.

A fatal shooting in College Park sparked officials to canvass the area Monday night, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
Police were called to the 9600 block of Milestone Way on New Years Day for a shooting. Stefon Powell, 22, was suffering from gunshot wounds when officials arrived in the parking lot, PGPD reports. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
In lieu of the incident, the Prince George’s County Department’s Homicide Unit will pass out flyers around the area where the shooting took place at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 5.

There is a reward of up to $25,000 in place for information in this case.
