A dryer caused a fire in an Upper Marlboro townhome Sunday.
Prince George's firefighters responded to the call around 1:30 p.m. in the 12600 block of Town Center Way.

When the firefighters arrived, Prince George's Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady said they found a dryer in the basement on fire in the two-story home.
Brady estimates $5,000 in damages including both the structure and its contents.
