Upper Marlboro Man Charged in Murder

Marcus Devon Reid is accused of fatally shooting 27-year-old Ishmael Boakye, of Riverdale.

 

Prince George's County police have arrested an Upper Marlboro man in connection with a murder earlier this week.

Marcus Devon Reid, 21, of the 10000 block of Pookey Way in Upper Marlboro was charged Thursday with first degree murder of Riverdale resident Ishmael Boakye.

According to police, patrol officers responded to the 10900 block of Woodlawn Boulevard in Upper Marlboro Tuesday shortly after midnight.

When they arrived, they found 27-year-old Boakye—of the 6800 block of Riverdale Road—fatally shot on the ground. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The suspect and the victim were acquaintances and had been in an argument, according to police.

Reid was being held without bond.
